Francois Valerian, chair of the International Board of Directors of Transparency International, is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on Tuesday for a three-day visit.

This marks his first trip to Bangladesh since being elected Chair of the Berlin-based global anti-corruption watchdog in 2023, said a TIB press release.


Valerian is visiting as a guest of Transparency International Bangladesh, the country chapter and one of the most active affiliates in TI鈥檚 global coalition spanning over 100 countries.

According to TIB, the purpose of his visit is to share experiences on corruption prevention and good governance, while also gaining first-hand knowledge of TIB鈥檚 activities, achievements, and challenges.

During his stay, Valerian will meet with TIB staff, leaders of 45 Committees of Concerned Citizens across the country, and representatives of 65 Youth Engagement and Support platforms.

He will also hold discussions with government officials, non-government stakeholders, civil society members, and the media.
