The education ministry is going to resume classes in educational institutions—schools, colleges, madrassahs and technical educational institutions — from April 28.
The seven-day closure of the educational institutions, from the primary to the secondary level, due to the ongoing heatwave alert, is scheduled to end on April 27.
The primary and mass education ministry, however, is yet to take any decision about resuming classes from April 28.
A release, issued by the Secondary and Higher Education Division under the ministry on Thursday evening, read that until further notice, classes would be held on Saturdays to cover up the learning gap caused by closure of classes.
Classes will be held on Saturdays also to gain the expected level of learning results under the new national curriculum, it continued.
The release also said that assemblies would be suspended and academic activities outside the classrooms would be limited until the heatwave became bearable.
Primary and mass education ministry senior information officer Mahbubur Rahman Tuhin said that decision would be made about the primary schools on April 27.
‘The ministry will consider primary level students with sensitivity,’ he added.
