
An exceptional campaign programme has been held at Times Square in New York recently to popularise sharee as a dress for women.
More than 500 women, wearing shares, took part in the programme on May 4.
British Women in Sharees orgainsed the programme.
Bangladeshi expatriates in the United States, Naznin Hossain and Subarna Khan, led the programme.
Women from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Uganda, Britain, United States and other countries attended the programme by wearing sharees, said a press release.
The rally was followed by a colourful procession wearing different types of sharees.
The organisers hoped that sharees would be popular dress for women worldwide.
