Sathira Jakir Jesy is set to become the first female umpire from Bangladesh to officiate in a men’s game, as she has been named as one of the four umpires by the BCB for the upcoming T20I series between the Tigers and the Netherlands on Wednesday.Ìý

Sathira will be the TV umpire for the second T20I scheduled on September 1, while she will handle the duty as the fourth umpire in the other two matches.Ìý


Masudur Rahman, Tanvir Ahmed, and Morshed Ali Khan will be the other three umpires in the series between Bangladesh and the Netherlands, while Neeyamur Rashid will oversee the duty of the match referee.Ìý

Sathira, a former Bangladesh international, was included in the ICC development panel of umpires last year.Ìý

Since then, she has officiated in 30 women’s international matches, including the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier. She also officiated in the Under-19 Women’s Asia Cup and the Under-19 Women’s World Cup.Ìý
