National Citizen Party convener Nahid Islam on Tuesday thanked party leaders, activists, and supporters across Bangladesh after the party received official registration with the water lily bud symbol.

Nahid announced that by the end of the month, the party would finalise its list of candidates for 300 constituencies ahead of the forthcoming national elections.

The Election Commission granted official registration to three political parties, including NCP, with the water lily bud symbol on Tuesday.

In a video message on Tuesday evening, Nahid called the registration a culmination of years of persistent efforts by leaders and activists at both the national and grassroots levels.

‘From now on, we are a registered political party, and under this symbol, we have secured our official recognition,’ he said.

Nahid emphasised that the NCP would field honest, capable, and patriotic candidates in every district and constituency.

‘NCP is a party for everyone – for those who wish to enter politics and contribute to reshaping Bangladesh in a new direction. We invite such individuals to join us,’ he stated.

Highlighting the party’s extensive nationwide outreach, Nahid noted that their July campaign had garnered significant public support, especially for the principles outlined in the July Charter.

The NCP leader confirmed that the party would finalise its list of candidates by month’s end, aiming to field suitable and patriotic candidates under the water lily bud symbol in every constituency. He expressed confidence that the support the party had already received would translate into success in the upcoming elections.

Nahid further reiterated his belief that, with continued backing from party members, well-wishers, and the general public, the NCP would secure a strong electoral performance.

He also pointed to the rise of a leadership committed to building a ‘new Bangladesh,’ a vision that led to the NCP’s founding in February, with the registration process beginning the following month.
