Senior district judge Liaquet Ali Molla, who was serving as an acting secretary of the Law and Justice Division, has been appointed the division鈥檚 secretary.
A gazette notification issued on Monday by joint secretary (administration-2) Md Azizul Haque said that the appointment was made in consultation with the Supreme Court.
Hailing from Magura, Liaquet Ali Molla joined the judiciary on April 25, 1994, as part of the 13th BCS (Judicial) cadre.
Before being deputed to the Law and Justice Division, he served as the district and sessions judge of Manikganj until October 2, 2010.
He earned LLB (honours) from Dhaka University in 1989 and LLM from the same university in 1990.
