Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish’s Amir, Mamunul Haque, along with six other Islamic scholars of the country, has travelled to Afghanistan at the invitation of the Taliban government of the Islamic Emirate.

The team reached Kabul on Wednesday morning, the Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish said in a press release on Thursday.


The other six team members are Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh’s Nayeb-e-Amir Abdul Hamid (Pir of Madhupur), Abdul Awal, Abdul Haque, Habibullah Mahmud Qasemi, Monir Hossain Qasemi and Mahbubur Rahman.

According to a press release, the delegation will hold meetings with Afghanistan’s chief justice, several ministers, leading Islamic scholars, and high-ranking officials.

The release stated that they will particularly observe and assess the actual situation regarding human rights and women’s rights in Afghanistan, issues that have drawn criticism from Western circles.

The press release further mentioned that strengthening ties between the scholars of the two countries, enhancing diplomatic relations, and expanding cooperation in trade, healthcare, and education will be key topics of discussion during the visit.

Besides, they will visit areas affected by the recent earthquake in Afghanistan.

Earlier, on September 14, the delegation, including Mamunul Haque, travelled to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah.

After completing Umrah, they arrived in Kabul on Wednesday via Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The press release also noted that Mamunul Haque is scheduled to visit other Central Asian countries during this tour, in addition to Afghanistan.
