Customs intelligence officials detained a foreign national with more than eight kilograms of cocaine worth Tk 130 crore at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Tuesday.
The passenger, identified as Karen Petula Stuffle, a citizen of Guyana, arrived on a Qatar Airways flight from Doha at about 2:30am on Tuesday, said a Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate press release.
Acting on a tip-off, customs intelligence officers intercepted her at the airport鈥檚 green channel, the release said.
A search of her luggage uncovered three plastic jars containing 22 foil-wrapped, egg-shaped packets of cocaine.
Filing a case regarding the matter was underway, the press release added.
