
Bangladesh interim government on Thursday sent 18 Bangladesh Judicial Service members, including 15 district judges, two additional district judges and one joint district judge, into retirement on completion of 25 years of service.
The government sent the judicial officers into retirement in consultation with the Supreme Court in accordance with the Public Service Act, 2018, according to an official order issued by the law, justice and parliamentary affairs ministry.
The judicial service members facing the forced retirement order are Bikash Kumar Saha (district and sessions judge) attached to law ministry, Sheikh Mofizur Rahman (district and sessions judge), judge of women and children repression prevention tribunal in Rajbari, Md Mahabubur Rahman Sarker, judge of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-1 in Kishoreganj, Sheikh Golam Mahbub, judge of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal in Kushtia, Md Mujibur Rahman, judge of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-1 in Gaibandga, Md Ehsanul Haque, judge of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal in Bhola, Md Jewel Rana, judge of public safety disruption (prevention) tribunal in Khulna, Monir Kamal, judge of cyber tribunal in Sylhet, Shahidul Islam, special judge in Patuakhali, Al Mahmud Fayzul Kabir, special judge in Dinajpur, Nazimud dowla, district and sessions judge of Tangail, AKM Mozammel Haque Chowdhury, judge聽 of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal in Takhurgaon, Fazle Elahi Bhuyain, judge of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal in Habiganj, Abu Zafar Md Kamruzzaman, (district and sessions judge ) attached to the ministry, Md Rustom Ali, member administrative tribunal in Barishal, Md Nurul Islam, additional district and sessions judge attached to ministry, AKM Enamul Karim Mohammad Hossain, additional district and sessions judge in Patuakhali and Mohammad Hossain (joint district and sessions judge) attracted to the ministry.
The judicial officers will be entitled to enjoy retirement benefits as per the order.
As per the law, the government can retire a public servant on completion of 25 years of service without assigning any reason. A public servant can also retire voluntarily after 25 years of service.
