
NTV special correspondent Hasan Jabed has been elected president, and ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· senior staff correspondent Moneruzzaman Mission has been re-elected general secretary of the Law Reporters Forum, a professional association of journalists covering legal, judicial, and human rights affairs.
Senior journalist Swapan Das Gupta, who led the three-member Election Commission, announced the results following the Forum’s Annual General Meeting, held at South Hall of the Supreme Court Bar Association.
The 10 other elected executive committee members for the 2025–2026 term are as follows vice-president Ahmed Sarwar Hossain Bhuiyan (Banglavision), joint secretary Arafat Munna (Bangladesh Pratidin), organising secretary SM Noor Mohammad (Ajker Patrika), treasurer Monjur Hossain (Channel 24), publicity and publication secretary Jabed Akhtar (ATN News), and training and welfare secretary Jannatul Ferdous Tanvi (BBC Bangla).
The elected members of the executive committee are Wakil Ahmed Hiron (Samakal), Bikash Narayan Dutta (Janakantha), Habibur Rahman (BSS), and Fazlul Haque Mridha (Jago News).
Bangladesh Nationalist Party international affairs secretary Nasir Uddin Ahmed Ashim attended the AGM as a guest.
The other two election commissioners, senior journalists Shahiduzzaman and Tofayel Hossain, were also present during the announcement of results.
Former LRF presidents Saleh Uddin, Ashutosh Sarkar, Mashhudul Haque, and Shamima Akter, along with senior member Quazi Abdul Hannan and many other past and present committee members, were also present at the event.
A total of 60 journalists from print, electronic, and online media outlets took part in the AGM.
