The hanging body of a Bangladesh Army soldier found in an under-construction building at the Rajendrapur Cantonment in Gazipur early Sunday.
The deceased, Sourav Hossain, a resident of Garaganj village under Sailkupa upazila in Jhenaidah district, was found hanging with gamchha and rope at his neck at about 5:00am, according to police.
Joydepur police station officer-in-charge Abdul Halim said that Sourav committed suicide.
鈥楢t the time of suicide, he was dressed in his uniform. Several hours before the incident, his unit took him under surveillance as he had transferred Tk聽14,000 through mobile financial service from Lance Corporal Yasir Arafat鈥檚 account,鈥� the police official said.
He said that the soldier went to the washroom with guard and went to the under-construction building and committed suicide.
The police official said that the body was kept at the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
The Inter Services Public Relation Directorate declined to make any comment over the incident.
