Students of different polytechnic institutes in Dhaka and elsewhere in the country on Wednesday decided to go back to classrooms relaxing their indefinite campus shutdown programme temporarily.
They, however, decided not to participate in other academic activities including examinations and form fill-up until their six-point demand over job, promotion and quality higher education would be met.
Protesting students announced their decisions at a press briefing held at the Dhaka Polytechnic Institute on the day after a joint meeting held at the institute.
Since April 29 they kept their respective institutions locked as they began an indefinite campus shutdown programme.
On April 16, polytechnic students across the country began demonstrations by blocking roads, highways and rail tracks in Dhaka and other districts causing huge suffering to the people to press home their demands.
