A student of private Stamford University was found dead in Hatirjheel lake in the capital on Monday.
The police said that Fayyaz Quader Chowdhury, 23, son of Fazlul Quader Chowdhury of Shahjahanpur in the capital, was suffering from mental instability for couple of years.
鈥榃e handed over the body to the family,鈥� said Hatirjheel police sub inspector Ful Kumar.
Local people spotted the floating body of Fayyaz and informed the police in the morning.
According to his family, he left home at about 11:00pm on Sunday and did not return home.
Police suspected that Fayyaz might have committed suicide after jumping into the lake.
