One worker was killed and about 20 others were injured in a fire at a Pran-RFL Group factory at Olipur of Shayestaganj in Habiganj Wednesday afternoon.
The fire was finally doused in the evening.聽
A probe committee was formed.
According to the Shayestaganj fire service office, the fire broke out at the factory inside the Pran-RFL Group鈥檚 Habiganj industrial park at about 2:30pm.
鈥楢 female worker was killed after she had jumped from the factory roof during the fire,鈥� said Habiganj deputy commissioner Most Jilufa Sultana.
She also said that 20鈥�22 workers were injured.
Firefighters could bring the flame under control at about 4:00pm and finally doused the fire at about around 6:30pm, she added.
Jilufa mentioned that eight units of fire services worked to douse the factory fire.
鈥楢 five-member probe committee was formed and the committee was asked to submit report in seven working days,鈥� she said.
The district administration gave Tk 20,000 to the female worker鈥檚 family, she added.
Shayestaganj police officer-in-charge Mohammad Mobarak Hussain Bhuiyan said that the identity of the deceased female worker was yet to be established.
